Die zwei Dekaden seit Eröffnung der Jazz Schmiede 1995 waren für die Erst-Bestuhlung offensichtlich mehr als genug. Daher – und bevor alle alten Stühle ‘aufgeben‘ – hat die Schmiede nun, nicht zuletzt mit dankenswerter Unterstützung durch die Stadt, eine neue Bestuhlung bekommen. Pünktlich zur neuen Spielzeit sind hiermit auch die Zeiten der ‘Holzklasse‘ vorbei, und wir freuen uns, neuen Sitzkomfort zu ermöglichen und somit ein noch schöneres Schmiede-Erlebnis bieten zu können.

"I am interested in musicians who are able to create a strong sound", remarks Peter Ehwald in the booklet for his first album with jazzwerkstatt, a studio production recorded at the Loft in Cologne.
