Blue Magoo
Four musicians from four countries - a synthesis of groove, sound, fascinating compositions and musical freedom: that's Blue Magoo! The Israeli saxophonist Itaï Weissman, the Dutch keyboardist Mike Roelofs, the German bassist Stefan Rademacher and the Belgian drummer Jordi Geuens have joined forces in this exciting international project.
Itaï Weissman is an outstanding soloist who, in addition to the saxophone, also plays the EWI, an electronic wind instrument. Musically, he offers a versatile input. His influences come from styles as diverse as klezmer, Middle Eastern music, classical and jazz.
Mike Roelofs makes a significant contribution to the band's sound with his atmospheric compositions, rousing improvisations and varied timbres on his Rhodes piano.
Bassist Stefan Rademacher has shared the stage for years with jazz fusion greats such as Billy Cobham, Randy Brecker and George Duke. With his creative playing, he sets musical impulses and always steers the action in surprising directions.
Drummer Jordi Geuens forms the electrifying foundation of the band's sound. He comes from the gospel and neo-soul scene. He became famous with the singer-songwriter Selah Sue and the band Zap Mama.
The four musicians of Blue Magoo captivate listeners with a unique blend of different musical cultures and create a world of sonically dense atmospheres, focussing on groove and musical freedom
