Jam Session – Fernanda von Sachsen Quartett
Opener: Fernanda von Sachsen is a young jazz singer and composer from Munich. Her singing style is characterised by the traditions of vocal jazz and her classical training. She received the special prize for her compositions at the Gasteig Kulturkreis Musikpreis in 2024. She is a scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium and has also received scholarships to participate in workshops such as the New York Voices International Vocal Camp. She is currently completing her studies at the Munich University of Music and Theatre. Together with her FvS Quartet, she expresses her own musical language. In her own compositions and arrangements of standards, lyrical melodies meet expressive harmonies and edgy rhythms.
Every Tuesday: Jam Session at the Jazz-Schmiede. The evening always starts at 8pm with an opener concert set with different formations each week. Afterwards, from around 9pm, there is an open jam session - anyone can come and join in to jam with other musicians and the opening band. Admission is free, so the sessions are also a great opportunity to get to know the Schmiede in an uncomplicated way.
