Albert Vila Trio featuring Doug Weiss & Rudy Royston

Albert Vila, the exceptional guitarist from Barcelona, is one of the most prominent voices of his generation and has become an unmissable personality in his home country and beyond, both as a guitarist and as a composer. His musical career has already taken him to Amsterdam (where he was awarded first prize at the Dutch Jazz Competition in 2004), Brussels and New York.

Until now, Vila has mainly performed his original material in a quartet or quintet. This time he wants to explore his music in a smaller ensemble. The guitar trio line-up can be minimalist, delicate and even a challenging format, but Weiss and Royston do an excellent job of mixing styles and textures and capturing a wide sonic palette.
