Three of a Kind
Organ trio with style and substance
Three of a Kind" brings together three experienced musicians who have dedicated themselves to the classical organ trio tradition - and at the same time lend it their own contemporary signature. The line-up of Hammond organ, guitar and drums provides the ideal framework for a compact, sonically versatile interplay.
Peter Baumgärtner, Joachim Schönecker and Wolfgang Roggenkamp combine stylistic confidence with great joy in playing. Their repertoire moves between swinging standards, soulful grooves, echoes of pop and Latin elements - always transparently arranged and with plenty of room for improvisation.
The three musicians have many years of stage experience in a wide variety of contexts. In this trio, they combine their musical qualities to create a lively and versatile programme that consistently explores the possibilities of this line-up - concentrated, varied and without gimmickry.
FL!M
Post modern jazz folk
creole NRW 2024 winner
Under the name FL!M, five musicians come together to create a shared vision of the future based on the music of the 21st century. With the tools of their trade and the rich treasures of a repertoire of instruments from the oldest traditions, they draw the picture of a tangible utopia with both patience and temperament: This is the sound of a culture of commonality that no longer wants to have anything in common with the status quo and resists all clichés.
FL!M is political without talking about politics. What looks like a classical ensemble turns out to be a fusion band in the best sense of the word and with a clear message behind it, thanks to modern playing styles and clever compositions: Everything must be new!
The strength of the ensemble is its versatility. FL!M means looking at yourself in the mirror and being unsure of what image will appear on the other side. It is the close musical exchange between these five characters that brings out the experiences of the day once again and puts them up for open discussion.
The harp and bass clarinet first invite the listener to dream and meditate in quiet passages on the carpet of sound, which transforms into a dance floor in the next piece, led by drums and bağlama. Thanks to the high musical level of the players, the audience embarks on a journey with the band in the interplay of exciting arrangements and extended improvisations.
