Thomas Siffling NQ+

With his new quartet, Mannheim trumpeter Thomas Siffling presents a project that focusses on reduction, clarity of sound and melodic presence. The focus is on catchy themes, open harmonic spaces and an atmospheric sound that is subtly enhanced by electronic elements.

Inspired by the Scandinavian jazz aesthetic of an Esbjörn Svensson Trio as well as the lyrical playing style of Miles Davis, Siffling is all about focussing on the essentials: Sound, emotion and groove. He is supported by a trio with Oli Rubow, Sebastian Gahler and Tobias Schmitt. The Thomas Siffling New Quartet stands for contemporary jazz that remains accessible without losing any of its depth.
