This year, the Jazz-Schmiede was once again awarded the venue programme prize by the NRW State Music Council. We are delighted to receive this award at the end of the year.
Culture Minister Ina Brandes honoured a total of 21 venues at the Loft in Cologne on 10 December, and our artistic director Peter Baumgärtner accepted the certificate on behalf of the Schmiede.
Thanks also to the President of the Landesmusikrat NRW, Christine Siegert, for her appreciation of the work of the independent venues, which put on a varied programme year after year under conditions that are not always easy.
We are also delighted that a total of three venues in Düsseldorf were honoured: zakk and schleuse2.
