Klaus Esser Big Band

The Klaus Esser Big Band played its first concert at the then still young Jazz-Schmiede in January 1998. The Düsseldorf big band was founded in 1976 - even though the origins of the band (then still known as "Ladykiller") go back even further to 1960.
Since 2025, the Klaus Esser Big Band has been playing under the direction of trumpeter and composer David Heiss, who has put together a completely new programme for the concert at the Schmiede. Experience handmade, rousing big band sound and be inspired by the band's passion and joy of playing.
