Drummer Jochen Rückert presents his new quartet from New York City. His fellow musicians are all high-flyers on the New York jazz scene and around two decades younger than the bandleader - a self-imposed challenge to keep up with the younger generation and promote them at the same time.
Rückert learnt sustainability as a side person in bands such as the Kurt Rosenwinkel Quartet and the Sam Yahel Trio: with his previous quartet with Mark Turner, Lage Lund and Mike Moreno, he toured worldwide for over 15 years. He is also known for his long-standing engagements with Reed's Ramble, Marc Copland, Nils Wogram's Root 70, Melissa Aldana and currently Fred Hersch. He has performed on stages around the globe, especially at the legendary Village Vanguard.
