Tobias Meinhart - Sonic River

Tobias Meinhart is one of the most exciting German jazz exports. Honoured as a Rising Star in the DownBeat Critics Poll, he has earned himself a place in the international jazz scene with his expressive, narrative sound. He performs regularly in renowned New York clubs such as the Blue Note, Smalls and Birdland and has appeared at major festivals such as the Winter Jazzfest (NYC), the Jarasum Jazz Festival (South Korea) and the Jazz Festival in Mexico City.

With his New York quartet, Meinhart presents his latest album Sonic River - a multi-layered work inspired by literature, metropolitan energy and a pulsating rhythm. Produced by Grammy award-winning Matt Pierson, the album brings together a high-calibre band: pianist Eden Ladin, bassist Matt Penman and drummer Mark Whitfield Jr. contribute their many years of experience with greats such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, SFJAZZ Collective and Kenny Garrett - virtuosic, precise and full of energy.
