in 2024, Carlotta Armbruster and János Löber were sent by WDR and Deutschlandfunk to represent young German jazz musicians at the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra (EJO) in Lithuania - the EJO is a big band founded by the European Broadcast Union, which is formed every two years in a different country and is made up of young musicians from all over Europe.
The two musicians, who are both active in the Cologne jazz scene, have enjoyed a musical friendship ever since, which has now grown into their own band project. In a chamber music setting, they explore their common musical language through composition and improvisation, focusing on the mixed sound of trumpet and trombone - which sometimes merges into a common sound, sometimes contrasts strongly.

Every Tuesday: Jam Session at the Jazz-Schmiede. The evening always starts at 8pm with an opening concert set with a different formation each week. Afterwards, from around 9pm, there is an open jam session - anyone can come and join in to jam with other musicians and the opening band. Admission is free, so the sessions are also a great opportunity to get to know the Schmiede in an uncomplicated way.
